Actually, I think he's a throwback to the 1930s.

He was at our little college last night, but I missed seeing him. Too bad he didn't say something controversial here so that the headlines would feature us!
I don't think he's an idiot, but he is like that crazy uncle we all had.
The one that would make a lot of sense until he started talking about how the moon landings were faked.
