Ben Franklin said: In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom.
In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop.
However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
Remember: Water = Poop, Beer/Wine = Health. Therefore, it's better to drink beer and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

You've convinced me!
Yes, there is also the idea that when we drink, we kill brain cells. But the cells we kill are the slower ones less capable of surviving. This in turn creates a fast pack of brain cells capable of survival, because they cull the slower ones to alcohol...making us a more efficient machine.

So here's the science behind this "theory" if you will:
1 liter of water = 1 kg
365 l of water = 365 kg
So according to this theory, 1/365 of each liter of water is e.coli 1000g / 365 = 2.7 g
It can safely be assumed that we do not ingest 2.7g of e.coli from drinking regular water unless you are drinking water from the Passaic River and/or Hudson River (NJ reference). But I was never one for math anyway...pass me a BEER!
OOOO-
You scientist types make me crazy.
However, I don’t want no steenkin’ ecolys runnin’ around in me, SO,
make mine a Long Hammer IPA.
I'm wich you girl...
